NORDTEK Paint Protection Film

Paint protection film

Paint protection film for every market — from desert sun to winter roads.

02 — The full range

01 / 03 Sun

The sun is on the list

UV blocking not less than 90%. Aliphatic stock, built to resist yellowing.

02 / 03 The surface

The surface stays the same

From one market to the next only the conditions change. The film on the paint is the one part that does not.

03 / 03 Cold

Then the cold

A day of heat, then a day of frost, cycle after cycle. On file: no cracking, clouding, blistering or colour change.

The road changes. The film does not.

NORDTEK is a Canadian company appointing distributors by country and dealers by region across Canada. Territory status is discussed after an application.

NORDTEK Paint Protection Film

The surface stays the same

The same film runs from the desert sun to a winter road. Between the two only the reflection in the paint changes.

The section
A topcoat, a body of aliphatic polyurethane, an adhesive, and the paint they are all there to keep.

// one car · four finishes

03 — Four finishes

Four ways to finish a panel.

Clear or black decides whether the paint is still what you see. Gloss or matte decides how the light leaves the surface.

Both ends.

Sun and heat.

Panels baking under standing sun, and UV that does not let up across the year.

05 — Construction
01 / 05 The section

Four layers, one skin

Three of them are the film. The fourth is the paint it is applied to, and the only one the customer ever paid for.

Everything below is drawn at schematic proportion so the layers can be told apart at all.

02 / 05 01 Topcoat

The outer skin

A thin elastomeric coating. It carries the gloss, and it is what actually meets the wash brush, the bug residue and the fine swirl marks from a bad towel.

Light scratches close again with warmth — sun on the panel, warm water, a heat gun in the bay.

03 / 05 02 Aliphatic TPU

The body

The body of the film, and the reason it works at all. Aliphatic polyurethane resists yellowing by its chemistry rather than by an additive, which is what keeps the clear line clear.

It is the bulk of the film: the layer that stands between the road and the paint.

04 / 05 03 Adhesive

The bond

A pressure-sensitive layer that wets out across the clearcoat over the first hours after installation, then holds through repeated freezing and thawing.

It is also the layer that decides how cleanly the film comes off when it is removed, which is a question every installer asks before the first one goes on.

05 / 05 04 Paint

What it is all for

The film is the sacrificial layer. It is chosen, applied and eventually replaced so that the paint underneath is never the thing being repaired.

All three layers are formed to compound curvature and stay nested through the bend — this section is drawn on a curved panel, not on a flat coupon.

06 — On the car

Where the road hits.

01 / 05 · Road debris

Where stones land

Bonnet, leading edges and lower panels take what the vehicle in front throws up. The film is the layer between that and the paint.

02 / 05 · UV

Not less than 90% UV blocked

Mirror caps, roof and bonnet take the sun first and longest.

Threshold, not a measured value.

03 / 05 · Topcoat

The outer skin

Light scratches from the wash brush close again with warmth — sun on the panel, warm water, a heat gun in the bay.

04 / 05 · Freeze–thaw

Water in every seam

Repeated crossing of zero at every edge and panel gap. The adhesive has to hold through all of it.

05 / 05 · Stock

Built to stay clear

Aliphatic polyurethane: it resists yellowing by its chemistry rather than by an additive.

Thresholds only

In the bay
