Limited warranty · NORDTEK

Registered at the bay.

Every NORDTEK installation is registered by the installer who fitted it, with photographs of the finished car. The owner receives an electronic warranty certificate by email the same day.

01 — How it works

Three steps, one record.

  1. 01

    The installer registers

Vehicle, owner, finish, panels and roll number, with photographs of every covered panel after installation. Within 30 days of the installation.

  2. 02

    The owner gets a certificate

An electronic certificate arrives by email: warranty number, vehicle, finish, panels, installer and term. No account to create.

  3. 03

    If something goes wrong

The owner opens a claim with the warranty number and photographs of the issue. The installation photographs on file are the starting point of the review.

  4. 04

    The decision

On an accepted claim, an authorised installer replaces the film on the affected panels, with the film and the labour at no charge to the owner.

02 — Term by finish

From the day of installation.

The term runs from the installation date on the certificate, for film bought from and fitted by an authorised NORDTEK installer, under the owner warranty terms. The warranty follows the car: a later owner keeps the rest of the term. It comes in addition to the rights the law gives you and does not limit them.

Hot climates

KLAR carries seven years instead of ten when, on the installation date, the car is licensed (carries its plates) in one of the places below. The list is complete and decides; it was drawn from the tropical, hot desert and hot semi-arid climates (Köppen-Geiger A, BWh, BSh) and the hot-summer Mediterranean south of Europe. Every place not on the list takes ten years. The term is fixed on the installation date and does not change if the car is later licensed somewhere else. DIMMA, SVART and NATT carry five years everywhere.

03 — What is covered

Covered

  • Yellowing or colour change of the film
  • Cracking of the film or its topcoat
  • Blistering or clouding inside the film
  • Peeling or lifting across a panel caused by the adhesive, not by the installation

Not covered

  • Installation faults: edge lift, trapped bubbles, knife marks, overstretched film. These are the installer’s to put right.
  • Physical damage: accidents, cuts and scratches deeper than the topcoat
  • Damage from care the film was not made for: abrasive polish, solvents, brush car washes, a pressure washer held at the edges
  • Chemical or industrial fallout, and stains left on the film
  • Film removed and fitted again, or fitted over paint that was damaged or not fully cured
  • Film not bought from and fitted by an authorised NORDTEK installer

04 — Where the warranty is limited

Conditions shorten film life.

The term assumes ordinary road use. On KLAR, strong heat and sun are reflected in the seven-year term on the hot-climate list; no other heat or altitude limit applies. Damage from industrial or chemical fallout is not covered.

Settlement: if a claim is accepted, an authorised installer removes the film on the affected panels and fits new NORDTEK film, at no charge to the owner. A credit or refund replaces the repair only if the owner agrees.

05 — Who answers for it

In Canada

NORDTEK, the Canadian company, is the warrantor. The installer who fitted the film is the first point of contact and handles inspection.

In other countries

NORDTEK is the warrantor everywhere. Where NORDTEK has a distributor, the distributor receives claims and arranges the repair locally on NORDTEK’s behalf.

06 — Care that keeps the warranty

First days

Let the film settle. Do not wash the car until your installer says it is ready; small haze or water spots under fresh film clear as it cures.

Washing

Hand wash with a pH-neutral shampoo and a soft mitt. Keep a pressure washer nozzle well away from the edges. Matte films take a shampoo made for matte surfaces.

Avoid

Abrasive polish, cutting compounds and solvents on the film. On matte films, no wax or gloss sealant.

07 — The certificate

In the owner’s inbox.

The certificate is the owner’s proof of warranty, with the owner warranty terms on its second page: keep the email, or open it again any time with the warranty number and the email address it was sent to.
